  1. Chop the chicken into little pieces, set aside in a bowl
  2. Mince the garlic
  3. Heat the oil, sauté the garlic until it turns golden
  4. Slice the ginger into matchsticks. Add to the chicken.
  5. Add cornstarch, oyster sauce, salt, flavor enhancers, and pepper. Mix well and marinate for 15-30 minutes
  6. Add rice and water into the rice cooker
  7. Add the sauteed garlic
  8. Add marinated chicken on top, do not stir. Cook chicken rice until done.
  9. Chop the green onion and mix well with rice.
  10. Steamed Hainanese Chicken Rice is ready to serve
